this introductory assignment tries to encourage children to use and look behind the media. Concentrating on the theme of environment we want to motivate children to create their own project about the environment. At the same time we hope that they will start to research and look behind what the media offers us (and what the children themselves produce).

This module is one of the outcomes of task 4 of our EU project 'Television
News on Europe' . You'll find more information about the idea of media
and the environment there.
> The
module is designed for an age group of 9 to 12. You can use it with other
children as well, but you might have to adopt the contents to their specific
needs.
> We want to change the design of the module to make it more interactive,
this will happen at a later stage. The current design enables less interaction
than we would like.
> This is a first experiment. Please let us know if you have used it
and if it has worked at all, which parts were successful and which parts
failed.
> If your school is limited with internet access: You can download
the whole module as an exefile. Just copy it to the PCs and double click
on the file. It will extract itself automatically.
