Course 'Video and Communication'
Berlin March 2005
DE-2005-014
15.03.05

Final note : I hope that you are fully prepared now to come to Berlin. As mentioned before: We will meet at 19.30 hrs at the Kulturring office, Ernststr. 14/16, 12437 Berlin (S-Bahn stop Baumschulenstr.). I will mail you a map of Baumschulenweg so that you can find the office easily.
Please bring the following:
- a mini-DV Videocamera if you own one or can access one from school
- your fee of 440 Euro in Euro-Cash if you haven't done a bank transfer
- two or three Audio-CDs with Music you like for the editing
- a DVD or Videotape with examples of video/media work you have done in the past
The weather is slowly picking up and we should have better weather next week. Be still prepared for cold nights and cold spells during the day. Berlin takes a long time before things are really warm.
See you on Monday,
Armin

Things to bring : If you have access to a mini-DV Videocamera (your own camera or the camera from your school) please bring it along. It helps you more if you work with the camera you will be using afterwards. Also bring two or three Audio CDs with Music you like along - this might be useful for the editing.

04.02.05

Programme and second tutor : You find a first programme of the week online now. The Studio workshop and a school visit are confirmed. Tasos Asvestas from Athens/Greece will come as the second tutor of the course. This is very good news.

About the payment of the course fees:

You can either pay the course fee (440 Euro) in Euro cash when you arrive or you can transfer the money directly on the Kulturring EU account. If you transfer the money you have to make sure that the money arrives here in Berin not later than the 16th March 2005. If the money has not been transferred by then you would need to bring the fee in Euro cash. I can't give out the course attendance forms if the money is not paid in time. This means that you won't be able to claim the money from your Agency.

The bank details in case you want to transfer the money:

Account owner: Kulturring in Berlin e.V., Giselastr. 12, 10317 Berlin, Germany
IBAN number: DE43100200004388203003
SWIFT number: BEBEDEBB
Name of bank: Berliner Bank, Friedrichstr. 185-190, 10117 Berlin, Germany

Please put following information on the transfer sheet: Payment EU Course Berlin March 2005

Your expectations of the course: You should have received an email today with questions about your expectations of the course. Please contact me if you haven't received the mail. A few mails have come back. Maybe your email address has changed.

12.10.04

About the hotel booking: As mentioned before - you need to book your own hotel (see also the 'general' page). All three hotels mentioned are still current but you can obviously stay somewhere else if you get a good offer online or through your travel agent.
The East Side Gallery has been the main 'course hotel' in the past and has been liked by most participants. Especially if you would like to stay together in the same place. Places are generally restricted though and tourism starts around Easter so not everybody might get a room there. Try to book your room rather earlier than later!

12.10.04

Programme: Since some of you have asked when the course will start and end. The course will start on the Monday evening around 19.30 hrs and finish on Saturday afternoon around 13.00 hrs. More information about the programme will follow at the end of the year once I have a more concrete overview of who is coming and where your interest lies.

12.10.04

About the meeting place: Some people have asked where we meet. Most of the time we will meet at the Kulturring office in Berlin-Baumschulenweg. The office is located at:
Ernststr. 14/16, 12437 Berlin, Telephone 0049 30 53696534, or just 53696534 if you ring within Berlin
Access to public transportation: The office is less than a five minute walk from the S-Bahn station 'Baumschulenweg', linked with several S-Bahn lines. You find the station in the east part of town, towards the south, most lines going towards the East airport 'Schönefeld'.

26.07.04

The course will take place!

As a short first info from Berlin: We have reached the critical number of at least eight confirmed course participants and I can give you the official 'okay' that the course will take place. More will follow at a late stage.
